Chinese, taught from the heart
Lumos Chinese Learning Centre was founded in Singapore in 2026. We believe Chinese is not a subject to be memorised by rote, but a skill a child can genuinely master. So we keep classes small, and teach every student as our own.
Ms Ding Ruihong
Chinese Teacher · 25+ years
Ms Ding brings over 25 years of professional experience. She founded an early-childhood education company and large tuition and care centres spanning kindergarten, primary, and secondary levels, taught in government and private schools, and worked for many years in teaching and curriculum research. She has focused on primary and secondary Chinese tuition in Singapore for many years. She keeps every class small — no more than 3 students — and every year guides at least 1 to 3 students through the Chinese DSA route into Chinese Special Programme schools such as Hwa Chong Institution, Dunman High School, Nanyang Girls' High School, and River Valley High School. Most students stay with Ms Ding all the way from primary school into secondary school, with the longest so far having studied with her for over 5 years. Her teaching is highly tailored to each child, and parents are welcome to sit in on a free trial lesson alongside their child — only once you understand and embrace her teaching approach can it truly work twice as well with half the effort.

Every year after the PSLE results are out, we take students on a forest hike and a celebration dinner — a fitting send-off after years of learning together.
Post-PSLE family day at the Botanic Gardens
After the PSLE, a large family learning day at the Botanic Gardens — parents and children play team games outdoors, taking learning beyond the classroom.
